Haskell/Wyeth Awards Fundrasier 2013

Delaware Futures held it's annual Haskell/Wyeth Awards Fundrasier at the Russel Peterson Wildlife Refuge Center on the Wilmington Riverfront. The event recognized Chip Rossi Marketing President for Bank of America, and Ne'teka Shelton,
Delaware Futures alum class of 2006. The fundrasier featured three Delaware Futures students, Junior's Syesha Walley and Johniquea Powell, Senior, Bergundie Parker and Sophomore Anthony McIver. Each student spoke to the attendees about their experience with the program.

Delaware Futures students participated in the
2012-2013 Delaware High School Mock Trial Competition on February 22-23. This years case was civil involving a car /bike collision. Delaware Futures students garnered 4 gavels. This years team consisted of ten students:

Grand Hank Hip-Hop Science Lab

Delaware Futures welcomed Grand Hank's Hip-Hop Science Lab on Thursday February 7 2013.
Hank introduced students to science facts and real life examples of how science works in helping the enviroment and in their everyday lives. The workshop was infused with hip-hop sounds, bells and whistles that made for attentive, interactive learning.

Art Fusion 2013

Delaware Futures students welcomed Art Fusion Inc.and the YWCA in for a workshop on Teen Dating Violence. Art Fusion actors/actresses put on an interactive skit portraying a couple involved in a abusive relationship. The issues are real and the warning signs are just as transparent.

MLK Day 2013

Delaware Futures students jioned the West Side community of Wilmington and the Be Ready Jesus is Coming Apostolic Church in their March for Peace, Community celebration. The students dug in and helped out with the march, serving water and food to participants and  assisited with the Arts & Crafts activities with the younger children. 

Freshmen Retreat 2013

 Delaware Futures freshmen participated in the annual freshmen retreat held at the University of Delaware. The students spent the day absorbing information about college admissions, college life, financial aid, and career goals and opportunities.

ShopRite Healthy Eating Workshop 2013

Delaware Futures freshmen participated in ShopRite's healthy eating program at the Wilmington ShopRite. Chef Murray and Chef Diane demonstrated to the students how to make healthy, easy, and affordable meals and snacks. The students joined in and helped prepare each meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) to their delight.

Graduate Panel 2013

Delaware Futures held it's annual Grad Panel 2013 on January 3, 2013. The meeting/ workshop allows Delaware Futures alumni a chance to share their newfound knowledge with the current students. The alumni answer questions about college life, academics, time management, greek life, social life and many more.

Delaware Futures held its annual Holiday Party for 2012 on December, 20th . Students and their families, board members, mentors and suppoters attended. The pary included raffles, prizes, bingo, and the big hit karoke. Food, fun, and fellowship was had by all.

Delaware Futures 5K Run/Walk 2012

Delaware Futures held its annual 5K on Saturday November 3 at Joe's Crab Shack on the Water Front.
Families, students, and supporters came out to support Delaware Futures mission by participating in the festivities. This years race included over 110 runners/walkers for the cause. Fun and exercise was had by all young and old.
